UNESCO Almaty Office in cooperation with the "Adventure of Science: Women and glaciers in Central Asia" initiative announces the call for application for a free expedition to the glacier!During this 10-days expedition, girls will discover the Ala-Archa National Park in Kyrgyzstan and explore its beautiful glaciers and environment. Young women (18 - 25 years old) come from across Central Asia and will spend these days in nature being trained in scientific methods, artistic observation, and mountaineering. Thematic topics connected to climate and environmental changes in the high mountains, and address them in groups by designing your own scientific project will be discussed. The program is designed to encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and expression of all sorts!
The number of participants will be limited to ten and the organizers will choose the participating women based on their application. You will need to fill out a detailed application form. The program is open for all motivated and inspired young women of the Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan between the ages of 18 to 25 years who are willing to learn and explore. You need sufficient English and Russian skills to communicate actively with all participants. You do not need any special mountaineering skills or science background but you will need to convince the organizers, that you are motivated to actively participate in the program and explain why you think this expedition is the right program for you.
