On December 4, 2020 a virtual awards ceremony took place for 19 teachers and masters of industrial training (IT) of professional lyceums in Kyrgyzstan.19 out of 20 active participants of the program finished it with the qualification "Coach" in the basics of computer literacy and distance learning. From November 5 to December 4 the course participants accomplished the following: developed their skills in the digital environment, learned new tools and methodological approaches in training, and honed their skills in small groups with their colleagues from other vocational schools. As a result, our program covered 93 professional lyceums (one representative each). It is expected that when 93 newly trained trainers will hold online classes for their colleagues at the lyceum, more than 2,000 teachers and software masters will acquire new knowledge in distance learning and significantly improve their computer skills.
The above described results would not have been possible without the well-coordinated teamwork of UNESCO partners: the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Agency for Initial Vocational Education under the Ministry of Education and Science (AIVE under MoES) and the Republican Scientific and Methodological Center (RSMC) under AIVE.
Special credit goes to a team of excellent trainers from UNESCO, Professor Bronius Aismontas (Lithuania, Moscow State University of Psychology and Education) and Vitaly Nikonovich (Belarus, "Laboratory of Innovative Projects"), and from GIZ, Professor Kubanychbek Jumabekov and Ulan Musaev from Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn). Despite the first experience of joint work, the trainers managed to develop a balanced and practice-oriented program. The content and relevance of the topics and areas of practical tasks were noted by the program participants. These are some of the statements made by participants:
I am ashamed to admit that I attended almost all of my previous professional development courses reluctantly. Each time I caught myself thinking that if I were in the shoes of these trainers, I could do much better. And that is why sometimes it was impossible to find me in class. But at this training I hurried by 11.00 because I wanted to meet my coaches, and I mean Nikonovich Vitaliy Nikolaevich and Professor Bronius. I was involved in the process of training because 1) I learned a lot about the platforms that I used every day, but did not know about the trained functions 2) I wanted to get to class faster to meet positive trainers and spend time with them.

Thanks to the clear and systematic presentation of the course material, I can say that my professional teaching competence has grown. The experiences of our international experts in online lessons have been particularly useful, as well as the easy presentation of knowledge, the reflection on the lessons learned, and the practical application of the material learned.The program allowed trainers not only to share their knowledge and skills with participants, but also to learn from each other:
After training, I plan to update my courses on Moodle, to develop interesting, interactive courses to participate in competitions "The best course on Moodle," held at universities in Kyrgyzstan.

A very useful course, especially by the team of professors A. Bronius and Vitaly. As a teacher, I gained experience in conducting online training. Vitaliy showed at a high level how to engage listeners. Bronius told a lot of interesting things about how adults learn. I am grateful for the opportunity to work in an international team, which allowed me to improve my competence in intercultural communication, negotiation, pedagogical design. I will use this experience in my future activities in the field of non-formal education. I am also confident that the established professional relationships will contribute to the emergence of new joint educational programs in the future.As the first experience of interaction between the two organizations and their teams, not including AIVE and RSMC, was not flawless, and despite the visible success and results of the program, certain lessons were learned (from the survey of participants and trainers), which will be considered when developing similar programs in the future.

At this stage, it is gratifying that the program course has been accepted by (RSMC) as a full-fledged professional development course for teachers and software masters of professional lyceums. The relevant methodological guidelines were developed by a team of trainers in Russian. And thanks to UNESCO’s support, it will be translated into Kyrgyz language, which will significantly expand the audience of users of the course and ensure its sustainability.
Reference. Due to the spread of COVID-19, all professional lyceums in Kyrgyzstan, as well as all other educational institutions, switched to distance learning in spring 2020. The teachers and masters of industrial training of the vocational lyceums were challenged to digitize the content of the training material. As practice has shown, not all teachers have the skills to work with online tools, most teachers do not even have computer skills. This program was implemented by UNESCO together with GIZ in support of the MoES plan in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
